Since we have cats of our own, we understand how difficult it is to leave your pet at home while you are traveling. We operate a pet-friendly inn, and are happy to welcome your canine companion.
During your stay, a visiting pet has unrestricted access to the inn’s common areas. During meal times, your canine companion may also join you in the dining room, as long as we are not too busy - ask upon arrival. The only “off-limits” areas for your pet are the commercial kitchen, other guests’ rooms & the innkeepers’ quarters.
To avoid potential pet-to-pet confrontations, we only allow one guest with a pet at any given time. With pet availability limited to one room, our approval MUST be obtained in advance, preferably at the time of booking. There is normally high demand for our pet room, so plan early to ensure availability!
Since we have two cats on-site, we unfortunately cannot accept visiting felines.
Even though we love pets, we must take into consideration the comfort of all guests when accepting pet reservations. Therefore, we adhere to some important policies, and also request that normal pet etiquette be followed:
We have two furry assistant innkeepers, Harley & Violet, who are always eager to make new friends. While they have free run of the inn, they are not allowed in the guest rooms (unless you encourage them...). Most of the time, you will find them lounging somewhere (they are cats after all...), either on our garden patio in summer, or near a fireplace in the winter.
Harley has been with us since our Singapore days, where we adopted him from the SPCA. He has never completely adjusted to Vermont winters, though a warm fireplace is better than the alternative he was facing in Singapore! He has adapted to the life of an innkeeper, and normally provides a warm welcome to all of our guests.
Violet is the youngest member of the Weathertop family. She is a native Vermonter, adopted from the Addison County Humane Society. She has always been a bit shy, but has come around quite nicely to the innkeeper lifestyle. She is younger than Harley, full of energy, and loves to give him plenty of exercise!
ALLERGY NOTE: If you have a severe cat allergy, we strongly recommend that you look for alternate accommodations. While we keep the inn as clean as possible, it is impossible to guarantee the removal of all allergens. Thank you in advance for your understanding...
